Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic spoke today with a delegation of French businessmen – MEDEF about cooperation in the field of energy and mining, especially in the field of RES development.
During the meeting, possible investments by French companies in this sector in Serbia, new technologies, energy transition and the decarbonization process were discussed.
On that occasion, an agreement was reached on the formation of a joint working group, which will consist of representatives of this ministry, "Elektroprivreda Srbije", "Elektrodistribucija Srbije", members of MEDEF and the Embassy of France, which will deal with concrete, priority projects.
Mihajlovic also explained that the energy policy is based on investments in new capacities, improvement of energy efficiency and connection with the region.
We want the latest technologies and companies that have experience in the development of the RES sector, and I think there is an opportunity to cooperate. The strategic partnership agreement between Serbia and France gives us the opportunity to work on joint projects faster and more efficiently, she emphasised.
French Ambassador to Serbia Pierre Cauchard said that there is a mutual interest in improving cooperation in the field of energy, bearing in mind that the Green Agenda is the focus of the whole of Europe.
According to him, there is an interest of French companies in participating in the reform of the energy sector, especially today when energy is a central topic.
