Serbia's position has improved by 18 places compared to the 2020 report, and it achieved the 8th largest jump in the rankings.
According to the value of the index, Serbia's eGovernment is currently in 40th place in the world and the best in the region. Compared to the last report, Serbia has progressed so much that it is now ahead of certain EU member states - Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The eGovernment Development Index is a composite index based on three separate base indexes that measure the development of online services (OSI), human capital (HCI) and telecommunication infrastructure (TII).
The value of these indexes can be "very high", "high", "medium" or "low". Both the composite and all base indexes of Serbia were rated "very high", and according to the value of the index of online services, Serbia was ranked 26th in the world, ahead of highly developed countries such as Canada, Switzerland, Norway and even ahead of 16 EU member states - including Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Croatia and Greece.
The eParticipation Index places our country in 15th place in the world, while only 3 EU countries (Denmark, Finland and Estonia) have developed more participatory online interaction between the state and its citizens.
