Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met in Singapore today, as part of a two-day visit, with Marc Raibert, the Chairman of company "Boston Dynamics", the world's most famous robotics company.
Brnabic and Raibert discussed opening a branch of this company for research and development in Serbia.
With the aim of achieving progress in the field of artificial intelligence, Raibert announced the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Institute, which enables potential cooperation with the AI Institute and scientists in Serbia.
Brnabic informed Raibert about the reforms implemented by Serbia, primarily in the field of education and digitalisation.
She pointed out that only by investing in these areas, Serbia can change its future.
Brnabic stated that IT is the fastest growing sector in Serbia, and recalled that our country has done a lot in the past ten years in terms of artificial intelligence, biotechnology and block chain technology.
The Prime Minister added that it is necessary to continue investing in IT sector.
The meeting with Raibert was also attended by Minister of Science, Innovation and Technological Development Jelena Begovic.
Artificial intelligence was the focus of the meeting between Prime Minister Brnabic and a delegation of the state-owned company Temasek from Singapore, which manages over $450 billion in the fields of artificial intelligence and block chain technologies.
Prime Minister Brnabic announced that representatives of Temasek praised Serbia's progress in the field of digitalisation and artificial intelligence and recognised the possibility of cooperation in the application of artificial intelligence in the public sector, as well as investments in this area in Serbia.
The Prime Minister of Serbia also met with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun, with whom she discussed potential economic investments.
The Prime Minister informed Liqun about the reforms implemented by Serbia, focused on new investments in innovation and development.
According to her, this was an opportunity to discuss cooperation in the field of financing infrastructure projects in Serbia, which they will implement together in the future.
The Prime Minister pointed out that she is proud that Serbia is a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The bank was formed in 2016, as a regional financial institution, but many members outside Asia joined it.
By the Resolution of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Serbia became member of the Bank in December 2018.
