The works within phase 6 included the expansion of the green belt on an area of 6,000 square metres.
Vesic stated that six new control facilities and four road lanes were built there - two for bus traffic and two for passenger cars.
According to him, the works within phase 7, on an area of 18,000 square metres, included the rehabilitation of the existing roadway and the construction of new control facilities.
He specified that the complete reconstruction of the terminal and the construction of six new asphalt lanes with six new control facilities were carried out.
The Minister noted that Horgos is the most frequent border crossing, where, especially during the holidays, large congestion was created, and added that the renovation and extension of this crossing will enable people to cross faster and not wait at the border for several hours.
The deadline for the completion of all works on the reconstruction and extension of the Horgos border crossing is September of this year.
With the reconstruction and expansion of the border crossing from 16 to 24 traffic lanes, the flow capacity will increase by 50 percent, and in addition to the works on the terminal and the entrance and exit from the country, the project also includes works on the approach section of the highway, which is the responsibility of the Public Enterprise " Roads of Serbia".
