Momirovic pointed out that we can already talk about the fact that this year, Serbia has achieved record foreign trade goods exchange with the world.
Following current trends, we can say that the total exchange of goods and services in 2023 will exceed €80 billion, the Minister pointed out.
Additionally, as he pointed out, we managed to reduce the foreign trade deficit by 31% in a very economically challenging year compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to him, when it comes to the export of goods, our main foreign trade partners this year are Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Hungary and Romania, and Serbia managed to achieve a trade surplus with CEFTA worth $2.71 billion.
Momirovic added that foreign trade was the largest with countries with which Serbia has signed free trade agreements.
The member countries of the European Union account for approximately 60% of the total exchange, and we expect that in the years ahead we will see the full effects of the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with China, the Minister said.
He added that intensive negotiations are also underway with Egypt and the UAE, where it is expected that free trade agreements will be signed with both of these strategically important countries in 2024.
Momirovic pointed out that in 2023, Serbia will have the largest surplus in trade in goods with the region, and above all with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia, in the amount of approximately €2.5 billion at the level of the estimate for the whole year.
The government of the Republic of Serbia managed to encourage domestic and foreign companies to continue investing in our country, increase exports, create new jobs and employ our workers, the Minister concluded.
