Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinović officially opened Agro Belgrade 2025, the sixth international fruit, vegetable and viticulture trade fair at the Belgrade Fair today.
Serbia has allocated a record RSD 150 billion for agriculture in 2025, amounting to 7.5% of the overall state budget, Martinović noted at the event.
The Minister stated that Serbia has recognised agriculture as one of the strategic sectors of its economy and is firmly committed to ensuring food sovereignty for its citizens, minimising food imports and increasing the availability of high-quality food it can export to the Western Balkans, Europe and the global market.
This year’s fair has brought together over 500 exhibitors from Serbia and the region, including producers of fresh, frozen and processed fruit, vegetables and grapes, distributors, representatives of retail chains, agricultural machinery and equipment manufacturers, nurseries, seed and chemical companies, and other businesses and experts from this sector.
