Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović met today with the Head of South Korean Hyundai Engineering’s Head Office Serbia Lee Yi Sung to discuss the construction of self-balanced solar power plants with a total installed capacity of 1 GW throughout Serbia.

Solar power plant construction most important project in Serbian energy sector

The Minister recalled that the contract for the construction of these solar power plants was signed in mid-October last year, and that negotiations on the financial conditions are ongoing.
Thanks to this project, Serbian energy company Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) will get its largest production capacity from renewable energy sources, which will further strengthen its position as a key producer of green energy, the Minister pointed out.
Lee Yi Sung emphasised the commitment of Hyundai Engineering to this strategic project, which will contribute to the development of renewable energy sources and the strengthening of Serbia’s energy stability.
