Together with Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao, Momirovic participated in the 11th session of the Mixed Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation between China and Serbia.
He pointed out that today's meetings, along with the signed Free Trade Agreement between Serbia and China, are another step in deepening economic relations and providing support to the business communities of both countries to fulfil their business potential.
According to him, Serbia has completed all administrative procedures related to the Free Trade Agreement with China, adding that the implementation of that document is expected when all legal procedures in China are completed.
Momirovic emphasised that China was our second largest trading partner last year with a total trade exchange of $6.1 billion and that exports to that country in 2012 amounted to $6.4 million, while in 2023 it was $1.2 billion, which represents an increase of more than 87 times.
According to him, in the first two months of this year, the total exchange of goods amounted to $931.3 million, which represents an increase of 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the meeting, Momirovic and Wang Wentao noted that the various fairs held in China and Serbia provide a real opportunity for the companies of the two countries to better position themselves on the Serbian and Chinese markets.
