First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic today wished the members of the Jewish community in Serbia and the entire Jewish people a happy Passover.
“I heartily wish you a happy Passover, the day of remembrance of the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery. The strong symbolism you nurture through this holiday also makes the Serbian people part of humanity, striving for freedom and peace throughout our history.
The sufferings of the Jewish and Serbian peoples brought us closer through time, in which both our peoples learned how important and timeless the values of freedom are.
We uphold those values today as the only path leading us towards a future where peace and mutual respect prevail.
With the warmest congratulations, to all members of the Jewish community in Serbia, as well as to all Jews in the world, I most heartily wish them to spend this great holiday in peace and harmony,” Dacic said.
