On that occasion, Popović pointed out that the new building of judicial authorities is an excellent example of the support that our country received from the European Union.
Namely, as she pointed out, the construction of the Palace of Justice was entirely financed by the funds of the European Union, worth over €13 million, while the Government will allocate €1 million from the budget of the Republic to equip the building with the most modern equipment.
She expressed her gratitude to the European partners for their contribution to the realization of the reform agenda of the Ministry of Justice, saying that this Ministry and the government, with the support of European Union funds, remain committed to strengthening the overall capacities of judicial bodies, as well as improving the legislative framework.
Popović expressed her belief that partnership cooperation with the European Union will be even more intense in the coming years.
Várhelyi pointed out that strengthening the functioning of the judiciary is a fundamental pillar of the process of joining the European Union and an area in which Serbia has taken important steps in the field of independence of the judiciary, its efficiency, transparency and responsibility.
He also recognised the important achievement of the constitutional reform of 2022, and stated that the European Union will continue to help Serbia make decisive progress in the area of the rule of law, which has great potential to accelerate Serbia's progress towards EU membership.
