Đurić recalled that Italy was the first EU member state with which Serbia established a strategic partnership, 15 years ago.
He assessed that today’s meeting of businesspeople from the two countries is a confirmation of close economic cooperation and represents a driving force for further strengthening of bilateral relations.
The head of Serbian diplomacy reiterated that full membership in the EU remains a priority of Serbia’s foreign policy, and expressed gratitude to Italy for its continuous and consistent support for Serbia on this path.
When it comes to Kosovo and Metohija, he pointed out the unilateral moves of the Priština authorities that have led to a worrying and alarming violation of the basic human rights of Serbs in our southern province.
In this regard, Đurić stated that Serbia greatly appreciates Italy’s presence within KFOR and its efforts to preserve Serbian monasteries and the security of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
According to him, Serbia remains committed to preserving peace and stability in the region, strengthening its business environment and economy, which, as he assessed, is one of the conditions for improving cooperation and good neighbourly relations.
