Creative industries and innovations have a huge potential for regional cooperation, cultural diplomacy and the creation of a creative ecosystem, as well as strengthening the international positioning of the region and common economic and technological progress, it was concluded at the first gathering of creative centres, organisations and initiatives.
Director of Ložionica and Head of the Serbia Creates platform of the Serbian government Ana Ilić said that the biggest challenges for the further development of the creative industries sector are the lack of physical space for creative people, the creation of a homogeneous creative ecosystem and a stronger penetration of the international market, which is why the construction of the first centre of creative industries - Ložionica was started in Serbia and an initiative for regional cooperation initiated.
The regional creative network will contribute to the development of this sector in the region, the exchange of ideas, knowledge and projects, Ilić stated.
UNESCO representatives, international experts from Denmark (BLOXKUB, Copenhagen) and France (Centre 104 from Paris and BAAZAR from Lille) took part in the first regional gathering, and the project of reconstruction and adaptation of the old Ložionica building into the first centre of creative industries was presented to the participants in Serbia.
The event was organised with the support of UNESCO - Antenna Office Sarajevo, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in the Republic of Serbia and the French Institute in Serbia.
