Cooperation with OSCE in field of prevention, fight against organised crime

Belgrade, 29 July 2024

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić talked today with Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Jan Braathu about further cooperation and joint projects aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of the Interior and the rule of law in Serbia.

Dačić expressed his gratitude to the OSCE for continuous support in strengthening the capacities of the Serbian police, which has a special emphasis on strengthening our forces in the fight against organised crime and corruption.

Good cooperation to date in the training of police officers and the improvement of their capacities was highlighted at the meeting.

The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed to the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior to the protection of rights and freedoms of all members of national minorities within its ranks, adding that the increase in the number of members of national minorities in the Ministry of the Interior remains our priority.

The Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia praised the efforts of the Ministry of the Interior in implementing reforms and highlighted the importance of continued cooperation through joint projects in the field of prevention and fight against organised crime, corruption and human trafficking.
