At a joint press conference with Macron at the Palace of Serbia, Vučić said that he had long talks with the French President about all important strategic issues, both bilateral cooperation and our path to the EU, but also strategic relations in the world and Europe as a whole.
The President expressed his gratitude to the French President for coming to Serbia and for once again showing respect for the citizens of Serbia and the Serbian people.
He emphasised that the signed agreements included cooperation in many areas.
The President of Serbia noted that 12 new aircraft will contribute to a significant increase in the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces, expressing his belief in good cooperation between the armies of the two countries in the future.
Macron said that Serbia has a place in the European Union and that the EU needs a strong Serbia, while Serbia needs a strong and sovereign EU to defend its interests.
In the last five years, the relations of the two countries and the partnership experienced a new upswing. This is where our economic cooperation is, and French companies have been engaged in long-term infrastructural projects such as the Belgrade Metro, the modernisation of the Nikola Tesla Airport, the French President pointed out.
According to him, the French Development Agency, which has been present in Serbia since 2019, has allocated almost €600 million and plans to continue developing its activities in Serbia.
Our experts work to provide support in the implementation of reforms and ecological-energy transition in Serbia. Today's agreements that were signed are very important for all that, Macron said.
