The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia today elected the new Government of the Republic of Serbia, which will be headed by Prime Minister Đuro Macut.

The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia today elected the new Government of the Republic of Serbia, which will be headed by Prime Minister Đuro Macut.
Out of a total of 199 members of parliament present, 153 voted in favour of the new government by open ballot, 46 voted against the proposal, while 51 MPs were absent.
The Prime Minister and members of the new government took the oath of office in the presence of the Speaker of the parliament, MPs and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić.
The text of the oath reads: "I swear allegiance to the Republic of Serbia and I undertake on my honour to respect the Constitution and the law, to perform the duties of a government member conscientiously, responsibly and devotedly, and to be committed to preserving Kosovo and Metohija within the Republic of Serbia".
After taking the oath, the Prime Minister and government members signed the text of the oath and handed it to Speaker of the parliament Ana Brnabić, thus concluding the special session at which the new government was elected.
