The conference demonstrates that China is ready to assume the role of one of the world leaders in the field of security in the new, multipolar world, Dačić said.
He emphasised that Serbia and China are bound by steel friendship, intensive economic cooperation and mutual trust and understanding in matters of the highest national and strategic interest for both countries.
In the context of global instability, Serbia has chosen to further strengthen cooperation with a proven friend – the People’s Republic of China, the Deputy Prime Minister said, noting that Serbia has been an active participant in the Belt and Road Initiative through numerous projects for more than a decade.
He noted that the presidents of Serbia and China had signed the Joint Statement on deepening and raising the comprehensive strategic partnership and building the community of Serbia and China with a shared future in the new era, which now represents the highest standard in bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Dačić said that this document envisages Serbia’s support for the Global Security Initiative, stressing that this initiative addresses the concept of security, in a way that is close, clear and understandable to Serbia and its people.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that in international relations, Serbia stands for the principles that this initiative supports and that it constantly insists on adhering to the principles of the United Nations and respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.
He recalled that in the field of public security, Serbia and China have signed several legal agreements at the level of ministries, as well as that the signed acts enable joint police patrols in tourist areas, numerous joint trainings and exchange of experiences.
The Ministry of the Interior remains a reliable partner in improving cooperation with all countries through existing cooperation mechanisms, Dačić said, adding that Serbia is a pillar of peace and security in the complex region that is Southeast Europe.
