The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced a 15-day review period starting today for the first document in the procedure to develop the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the mining component of the Jadar project – the Request for Determining the Scope and Content of the Study.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujović said that the Request was published after Belgrade-based Rio Sava Exploration d.o.o. supplemented the documentation at the ministry’s request, in order to provide the public with additional information.
According to her, all documentation at every stage and for every part of the project will be made available for public review, allowing interested parties to provide suggestions, so that the best solutions can be achieved through a collaborative approach and the final document, i.e. the Study, can be improved.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that a comprehensive fact-based discussion will be conducted taking into account all documents, after which a decision will be made regarding the project’s future and Serbia’s further development.
