Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković stated today in Paris that Serbia’s goal is to become a full member of the International Organisation of La Francophonie and to fully contribute to common goals.
At a plenary session of the 45th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, which is taking place ahead of the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Selaković pointed out that advancing Serbia’s status would be a great incentive given that the government of Serbia attaches great importance to cooperation with this organisation.
He recalled that Serbia obtained observer status in 2006 and advanced to associate member in 2018, adding that the country is consistently strengthening cooperation with all stakeholders in the field of the Francophonie and the cultivation of the French language.
According to him, by assuming permanent membership in the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Serbia would once again confirm its commitment to the values that it itself cherishes, as part of its culture and heritage.
