Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković participated in the Western Balkans Summit on Culture, Education and Innovation, organised by the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation in Budapest.
Selaković pointed out Serbia’s commitment and readiness to improve cooperation in the field of culture multilaterally at the highest level and additionally on a bilateral basis with Hungary.
He presented the possibility of developing a regional cultural forum whose framework and guidelines would be set by the ministries of culture, in which a higher level of cooperation between institutions, as well as among cultural workers, would be established.
Selaković expressed his belief that this would improve the representation of the region and the attractiveness of the cultural scene, heritage and contemporary creativity, and unleash significant development potential, particularly highlighting areas of cooperation such as ethnography, museology, music and film.
During the summit, Selaković met with Hungarian Minister of Culture and Innovation Balázs Hankó, with whom he discussed further steps aimed at improving institutional cooperation, as well as the implementation of agreed projects.
