Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary Balázs Hankó discussed in Budapest today the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture.
The ministers stressed that there is a mutual willingness to continue and improve cooperation in the field of culture, especially between related institutions, as well as through the definition of a cooperation programme in the field of culture between the two ministries in the next three years.
They also agreed to implement the project Year of Hungarian Culture in Serbia, as well as of Serbia in Hungary, and that in the second half of 2025, Serbia hosts Hungarian institutions and artists, who will represent Hungarian culture for a period of almost six months in Serbia, and then in the first six months of 2026, Serbia will represent its culture in Hungary.
Selaković noted that Hungary's experience with 100 capital investments in culture is also important for Serbia, since Serbia has also embarked on the renovation of museums and infrastructure investments in cultural facilities and has planned investment projects in this area as part of the holding of Expo 2027.
