Outgoing Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković stated today that Serbia’s representatives will participate in the upcoming auction at the Dorotheum auction house in Vienna, where one of the finest works from the early artistic phase of the famous Serbian painter Uroš Predić will be offered – a portrait of the artist’s niece Angelina.

Serbia to bid for valuable Uroš Predić painting for National Museum

According to him, the purchase of this significant work for the National Museum of Serbia will complete the collection of paintings depicting children and their world, important motifs in the paintings of Uroš Predić, including the well-known work “Busy Little Hands”, which forms part of the museum’s permanent collection.
The Minister recalled that Uroš Predić was among the greatest European painters of his time and one of the most prominent figures in Serbian art in the last decades of the 19th and first half of the 20th century.
