Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova opened today at the Russian House in Belgrade the Fifth Russian-Serbian Cultural Forum on the topic “Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Russia and Serbia: History and Contemporaneity”.

Selaković said that the forum, which has become a tradition, is an extremely important platform for strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries.
He said that culture, today more than ever, represents a framework for the fight against historical revisionism and the defence of universal human values – freedom, truth and justice.
Lyubimova emphasised that Russia and Serbia have always carefully nurtured relations towards cultural heritage, that both countries have a large number of monuments, which obliges us to preserve our heritage for future generations.
The forum has gathered representatives the two countries’ cultural institutions in the fields of cinematography, theatre, dance, museums and other institutions for the protection of cultural heritage, literature and libraries, as well as scientific institutions in the field of culture.
