Interior Ministry rescue teams sent to endangered areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina

This morning, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić saw off from the Administration for Emergency Situations in Belgrade the firefighters and rescuers from Belgrade, Novi Sad and Kragujevac who were sent to areas affected by floods and landslides in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dačić said that the specialist rescue teams are being dispatched to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has sustained casualties and great material damage in the natural disaster, by order of President Aleksandar Vučić and based on a letter from Prime Minister Miloš Vučević sent to the country’s authorities.

According to him, 36 members of specialist rescue teams of the Interior Ministry’s Department of Emergency Situations are leaving for Bosnia and Herzegovina with 12 vehicles.

Also, the public company Srbijavode, as a member of the Emergency Situations Team, is sending two excavators as first aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia has expressed readiness to help with anything else that may be needed, such as further engineering machines, excavators, trucks, but also rescue helicopters, Dačić pointed out.

He explained that the Serbian teams will be sent to the Jablanica region or where the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina determine the situation is the most critical at a given time.
