Mali pointed out that the new plane will fly both to China and to the West and will carry the message “Come to Belgrade, come so we can all be together in the centre of the world”.
The new wide-body jet has 262 seats and will fly to both New York and Chicago, as well Tianjin and Guangzhou in China, Mali went on to say, adding that Air Serbia is the fastest growing airline in the region and that by the end of the year it will receive three more new planes, expanding its fleet to a total of 29 aircraft.
Serbia expects to host more than three million visitors at Expo 2027 and to present itself appropriately, he emphasised.
Air Serbia Chief Executive Officer Jiří Marek said that, in anticipation of the upcoming Expo 2027, the company wanted to contribute to the promotion of that important event and therefore decided to give its third wide-body aircraft the exhibition’s visual identity.
