Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić spoke in Kumanovo with Minister of the Interior of the Republic of North Macedonia Panche Toshkovski about improving police cooperation between the two countries.
Dačić, who is on an official visit to North Macedonia, stated that it is necessary to resolve the problem of border waits which persists even though the procedure is simplified and the border can be crossed with an ID card.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that irregular migration continues to be an issue both in the region and in Europe.
We have stopped around 7,000 illegal crossings at our border this year, he said and pointed out that migrants come to North Macedonia and Serbia from the European Union and that the EU’s help is needed address the issue.
We need finances for the implementation of such projects, logistical assistance and equipment, Dačić emphasised.
