Selaković pointed out that the construction of the Centre was done within the framework of the “EU for Cultural and Historical Heritage and Tourism” project, which is implemented by the German Development Cooperation GIZ.
He emphasised that with this undertaking, the European Union and German partners showed how important it is to present our cultural and historical heritage in a proper and high-quality way not only to Serbia, but to the whole of Europe and the world.
The Minister reminded that in less than three years our country will host the prestigious international exhibition Expo 2027, which is an opportunity to present this site to the whole world, because it takes about two hours to reach this site from Belgrade.
Selaković expressed his gratitude to the European Union, the EU Delegation in Serbia, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation, the German Development Cooperation GIZ, the Government of Serbia, the City of Zaječar and all those who helped the implementation of the project.
Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia Emanuele Giaufret, Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Carsten Meyer-Wiefhausen and Mayor of Zaječar Boško Ničić also spoke at the ceremonial marking of the completion of the Centre’s construction, according to a statement from the Ministry of Culture.
