This year’s 67th International Belgrade Book Fair was officially opened tonight by poet, playwright, screenwriter and professor of the Belgrade Faculty of Dramatic Arts Milena Marković and storyteller, poet and anthropologist Miguel Barnet, representative of Cuba as the guest of honour of the Book Fair.

The International Belgrade Book Fair, a literary event of the highest repute in this part of Europe, was organised this year under the slogan “The Word is Free”, with the participation of more 400 direct exhibitors from the country and abroad.
The most visited book fair in the region, during the nine days of the fair, from 19 to 27 October, will traditionally feature the largest local, as well as numerous foreign publishers and writers.
