Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and his Cuban counterpart Alpidio Alonso Grau signed today the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba on preventing illicit trade in cultural goods.
Selaković said that he was honoured and pleased for having the opportunity to host Minister Grau at a time when Cuba is the guest of honour of the 67th International Book Fair in Belgrade.
He stated that plans for the future were discussed at the meeting which was held before the official signing of the agreement and he singled out literature as an excellent example for future bilateral cooperation.
Grau expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to present "the real value system fostered by Cuba" at a major event such as the Belgrade Book Fair.
At the end of their official address, Selaković and Grau exchanged symbolic gifts – a portrait of Nikola Tesla and a sculpture by a contemporary Cuban artist.
After that, the ministers attended the opening of the Belgrade Book Fair and the stand of the Republic of Cuba at this event.
