Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who is on an official visit to Minsk, met today with Belarusian Minister of the Interior Ivan Kubrakov.
Vulin and Kubrakov agreed that the two countries are facing similar security threats and challenges and highlighted the successful cooperation to date between the Serbian and Belarusian security structures, as well as the need for their improvement.
The two officials agreed on cooperation in the field of joint training of the police of Serbia and Belarus, special units, as well as training in the field of fight against terrorism, organised crime and high-tech crime.
During Vulin’s meeting with State Security Committee (KGB) Chairman Ivan Tertel, the good cooperation between the security services of the two countries was highlighted and an agreement was reached that there is room for improvement of joint work to preserve the independence of the two countries.
Vulin also met with Minister of Defence of Belarus Viktor Khrenin.
Vulin emphasised that Serbia will adhere to military neutrality, and he informed Khrenin about the country’s plan to introduce mandatory military service.
