On the sidelines of the event, Dačić met with Argentina’s Federal Police Chief Luis Alejandro Rolle to discuss the improvement of police cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the experiences of Argentina, where the first INTERPOL Regional Bureau was opened, were discussed alongside membership in the INTERPOL Executive Committee.
Furthermore, an agreement was reached on the continuation of mutual support within the international police organisation regarding issues of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of this event, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke with Minister of Justice and Public Security of Brazil Ricardo Lewandowski and INTERPOL’s new Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza.
Dačić and Lewandowski assessed that the cooperation between the Serbian and Brazilian police is good, and pointed out that further improvement would be of mutual importance, especially in the area of combating drug smuggling, as well as the fight against organised crime.
Dačić highlighted the support of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior to the plan and programme for the modernisation and strengthening of the oldest and largest police organisation in the world.
The new Secretary General of INTERPOL expressed his gratitude to Dačić for the support provided, stressing the desire that the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and the General Secretariat of INTERPOL deepen their cooperation at the strategic and operational level in the coming period.
The Deputy Prime Minister also held a meeting with Secretary of State for the Home Department of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Yvette Cooper, at which it was assessed that the cooperation between the two countries in the field of internal affairs is good, especially in the area of combating financial and economic crime, but that there is room for its further improvement.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the harmonisation of the text of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the Government of the United Kingdom on the improvement of cooperation in the fight against organised crime in the field of migration, which is expected to be signed in the coming period.
