At the ceremony, Milićević said that volunteers from across the globe began arriving in Serbia in 1914 to help the army and civilian population, with Australian volunteers among the first. As part of medical and Red Cross missions, these volunteers treated wounded and ill soldiers and civilians, he noted.
He assessed that the postage stamps, released today, not only pay homage to the heroes of the past but also serve as a symbol of enduring friendship and a reminder of the solidarity extended throughout history.
