Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić said today at the conference marking 70 years of the Convention on the Status of Stateless Persons and 10 years of the IBelong Campaign to End Statelessness, that Serbia is very committed to regulating all issues in this area.

According to him, following the basic principles of international law, in our national regulations we pay special attention to the prevention of statelessness through the acquisition of citizenship on various legal grounds.
He reminded that within the mentioned campaign, but also before it, Serbia implemented systemic changes that enabled good results, which made it an example of good practice in the region.
We are following with great interest the tendencies of the creation of the Global Alliance to End Statelessness, which, as a platform for the cooperation of states and other involved entities, should, through the UNHCR Solution Seekers Programme, contribute to the complete solution and eradication of the problem of statelessness in the world, he added.
