Government adopts Bill amending Law on Privatisation

At today's session, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Bill amending the Law on Privatisation, which regulates the conditions and procedure for changing the ownership of social and public capital and property, and the new deadline for completing the privatisation is 31 December 2027.

The proposed amendments to the law stipulate that, if the privatisation of social capital does not occur within the prescribed period, forced liquidation of those entities will be carried out after the deadline for their privatisation has expired.

At the session, the Decision on the Establishment of the Coordination Body for the process of accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union was adopted.

The proposed solutions innovate and establish the structure in a more complete and clear way, defining tasks and relationship of the working bodies. The coordinating body system includes the Coordination Body, the Coordination Body Council and Negotiating Groups.

It is planned that the system will be completed with a Team for support of negotiations, which would be established by a special decision of the government.

The government also adopted the Conclusion on the Acceptance of the Programme for the International Promotion of Entrepreneurship.

The decision on the Formation of the Council for the Fight Against Human Trafficking was also adopted at the session.
