At a conference marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Dačić emphasised that from January to 20 November this year, 25,897 perpetrators of domestic violence were registered, of which 20,598 were male, with 26,950 urgent measures being imposed and 18,540 measures being extended during that period.
According to him, during this period, 29,049 victims of domestic violence were recorded, of which 20,138 were female and 8,911 were male.
Minister without portfolio in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women Tatjana Macura stated that building a society without violence is impossible without institutional dialogue and state investment in the fight against violence.
She emphasised that the Government of the Republic of Serbia is the only government in the region and beyond that has a minister directly responsible for this area, which clearly indicates that the state’s intention is to work hard to put an end to violence.
