The Ministry of Mining and Energy today launched a public call to participate in the second round of auctions for the award of market premiums for renewable energy sources (RES), with investors to compete for quotas totalling 424.8 MW.
Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović stated that of the total quota offered, 300 MW is allocated for wind power plants and 124.8 MW for solar power plants.
She pointed out that the maximum prices to be offered at the auction, of €79 per MW for wind power plants and €72 per MW for solar power plants, should ensure that the share of green energy increases at a cost that is acceptable to citizens and businesses.
Several innovations have been introduced compared to the previous round of auctions. The most important is an additional advantage for investors that, in addition to the bid price, offer capacity to the guaranteed supplier or end customer through a power purchase agreement for renewable energy sources (RES) for a period of three to 15 years.
