At the bilateral meeting held within the forum, which was attended by representatives of ministries and scientific communities of Serbia and Italy, Begović and Bernini signed a Declaration of Intent for Cooperation in Research and Innovation.
The gathering under the slogan “Uniting Minds, Bridging Borders” represents an exceptional opportunity to deepen cooperation in the areas of science, innovation and technological progress that are essential for the future of our countries, the Minister emphasised.
She pointed out that Italy is Serbia’s strategic partner, not only in political and economic terms, but also in scientific terms and in terms of innovation development. The Minister also announced that the first results of the two countries’ joint scientific and strategic programmes are expected in January.
Bernini assessed that Serbia’s progress in the industry related to artificial intelligence is obvious, and that through cooperation with Italy, this progress can be even faster.
Italy confirmed its decision to strengthen friendly ties with Serbia and work together on scientific and technological progress, the Minister emphasised.
Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of Serbia Arnaud Guillon said after the bilateral meeting that it is of utmost importance to point out the enormous contribution that Serbian scientists make to international science.
