Strengthening cooperation with China in fields of knowledge, science, innovation

Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia Li Ming met today with 13 researchers and five scientists – representatives of projects – who will contribute to the development of the scientific community of the two countries during their stay in China.

Begović recalled that after the official visit to our country of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and his meeting with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, a competition was announced for 50 scientists from Serbia who will spend time at the best scientific institutions in China.

According to her, they will have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and learn about new technologies, and then bring that knowledge to our country.

We have announced strategic innovation projects, and today we spoke with the selected people who will lead these projects in areas that are very important for Serbia and China, but also for all of humanity, from green energy to biomedicine, new materials, agriculture and food production, the Minister said.

Li Ming said that a new chapter is opening in the cooperation between China and Serbia in the fields of science and technology, adding that all countries should work together and contribute to peace, stability and economic development in the world.

Fifty young researchers will spend alternately the next three years in China in the duration from 6 to 12 months.
