Ministry of Interior diligently accomplished all tasks in 2024

Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić visited members of the Ministry of Interior on New Year’s Eve, meeting with personnel at the Command and Operations Centre of the Belgrade Police Administration, police patrols and Gendarmerie units at the Bogoslovija roundabout, and firefighters-rescuers at the Command and Operations Centre of the Emergency Management Administration.

Vučević expressed gratitude to members of the Ministry of the Interior for their dedicated performance of duties throughout 2024 and wished them a peaceful 2025, noting that the protection of the constitutional and legal order is their daily responsibility, along with ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

He expressed confidence in the professionalism and capability of the Serbian police to perform these duties in the best possible way.

Dačić said that over 1,100 personnel were on duty in Belgrade alone, with thousands of police officers and firefighters on standby and working during the New Year’s celebrations across Serbia.

In this context, he noted, the Prime Minister’s visit is a great honour for all members and a strong motivation for their future efforts.

After many challenges last year, the New Year’s celebrations passed relatively peacefully throughout Serbia, Dačić stated, expressing his deep gratitude to members of the Ministry of the Interior for their selfless work, according to the ministry’s statement.
