Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić and Minister of Communications of the State of Israel Shlomo Karhi signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the two ministries in the areas of telecommunications and postal services.

Ristić explained that the MoU defines steps for enhancing cooperation in the field of the ICT sector development, information security, telecommunications infrastructure development, as well as the development of 5G networks and fast fibre-optic internet.
Karhi emphasised that the signing of the MoU represents an important step that is an indicator of a common vision on ways to further develop the ICT sector, information security and economic development.
By signing the memorandum, both parties committed to encouraging contacts between public and private entities, educational and scientific institutions, legal entities and other relevant organisations and experts to discuss scientific and technical issues related to telecommunications and postal services.
The MoU also calls for encouraging the exchange of information on liberalisation programmes and investments in the areas of telecommunications and postal services.
