State’s responsibility to secure improved medical treatment conditions nationwide

Zaječar, 24 February 2025

Prime Minister Miloš Vučević said today, after visiting the reconstructed Children’s Department of the Zaječar Health Centre, that the task of the future government is to ensure the best possible conditions for treatment and work at healthcare institutions across the country.

Vučević emphasised that children’s hospitals throughout Serbia should resemble the newly renovated department in Zaječar.

The task for the state and the future government is to fight for every place in Serbia that has a hospital or health centre to have such conditions for both employees and patients, especially for children, as the most vulnerable category, the Prime Minister underlined.

Vučević said that the state still has a lot of work to do and noted that he had discussed with the Mayor of Zaječar and the heads of the health centre what is still needed and what the priority list is for both health centres and maternity wards, but that other infrastructure projects were also discussed.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the gasification of Zaječar was also discussed, and he expressed his belief that the state will build a gas pipeline from the direction of Paraćin in the coming period.

According to his assessment, this would provide citizens with better opportunities for heating and energy consumption and would also have a positive impact on environmental protection and living conditions in the city.
