The meeting was held in Moscow, within the framework of the continuous work of the Intergovernmental Serbian-Russian Committee, which represents one of the most important mechanisms for the development and improvement of cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
Popović, who is also the co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Serbian-Russian Committee for Trade, Economic and Scientific and Technological Cooperation, emphasised that Serbia and Russia have already achieved significant progress in many areas, including trade, energy, industrial production, agriculture and transport.
He stated that high-level consultations were held today, and added that important topics were discussed, such as energy, industrial production, science, agriculture, as well as the application of new technologies.
The minister added that intensive work is being done on the preparation of a new contract in this area, with the current one expiring at the end of May this year, with the belief that Serbia will sign the new contract under the same favourable conditions.
Also, Popović emphasised the importance of the upcoming meeting between presidents Putin and Vučić on Red Square on 9 May, Victory Day, when the two leaders will together commemorate the great victory in World War II.
