Dacic said he was pleased to meet again with the Chinese minister, stressing that the Republic of Serbia wishes sincere welcome to its dear guests from friendly China, convinced that the decades-long relations of friendship, respect and cooperation will become even stronger, richer and more meaningful after this visit.
We treat the visit of President Xi Jinping as historic because it takes place after more than three decades since the last visit of a Chinese President to Belgrade, but also because the relations of strategic partnership between our two countries will grow into a qualitatively new level - a comprehensive strategic partnership, he underlined.
Dacic stressed that this visit will be permanently remembered for the large number of bilateral agreements that will be signed, over 20, which cover a wide range of fields - from the economy and finance, through infrastructure to environmental protection, culture, education, the media and other fields.
During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged opinions on a number of issues concerning bilateral relations, cooperation within the mechanism China - countries of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as on multilateral issues.
Both sides noted that the relations between Serbia and China are adorned by traditional friendship, deep mutual understanding and trust and mutual support in the most important issues of national interest.
Our bilateral relations develop and improve continuously, ministers Dacic and Wang stated.
The meeting was also attended by Serbia’s candidate for the post of the UN Secretary-General Vuk Jeremic.
