Representative of the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Army Major-General Zdravko Ponos said that a Plan of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and Greece for 2007 was signed today, in which one of the key activities is joint training and exchange of experiences of special units of the two country's armies.
Ponos said in a telephone statement to Tanjug news agency that the Plan also envisages preparation for taking part in peacekeeping missions and improvement of cooperation in the field of education of Serbian army members in Greek military schools and academies.
He said that the activities covered by the Plan for 2007 are of much richer content than was the case this year and added that an agreement was reached to examine what could additional forms of cooperation be.
On behalf of Greece, the Plan of bilateral military cooperation was signed by Chief of General Staff of the Greek Army Admiral Panagiotis Hinofotis.
During his two-day visit to Greece, the representative of the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Army visited the Centre for training of Greek special units and talked with representatives of the Greek army and the ministry of defence about cooperation in the field of telecommunication.
