The Prime Minister emphasised that it is an exceptional honour and a pleasure for her that the duty of the ambassador of this very important country to us has gone to somebody who knows very well the relations between Serbia and Russia, as well as the overall situation in the region.
This is also a confirmation of the importance that the two countries attach to fostering their relations and partnership.
Botsan-Kharchenko confirmed that bilateral relations reached a high level of strategic partnership, support and mutual understanding.
He added that Serbia can count on Russia's firm support in preserving its territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as on unequivocal support in the international arena.
As an example of good partnership, Brnabic mentioned the cooperation in the field of railway infrastructure, primarily in the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest railway, whose most demanding and difficult part is being made by the Russian Railways, one of the world's best companies.
The two officials also discussed the implementation of concrete projects in the field of energy and transport infrastructure and the possibilities for enhancing economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister of Serbia and the Ambassador of Russia concluded that the traditional partnership and the sincere connections of the two peoples represent a mutual commitment of our countries to continue to be committed to the improvement and expansion of bilateral relations.
To that end, the possibility of the two countries’ prime ministers meeting during this year was discussed.
