Minister without portfolio in charge of innovations and technological development Nenad Popovic visited today the production capacities of the largest Russian vaccine manufacturer "Sputnik V" - Generium in the Vladimir region in Russia.
On that occasion, Popovic said that official talks on the production of this vaccine in the territory of Serbia had begun.
Together with experts from the Torlak Institute and the Serbian Ministry of Health, he held a meeting with the organisation's director general Danilo Taljanski, who confirmed the Russian side's readiness to transfer technology and help train Serbian personnel to produce Russian coronavirus vaccine in Serbia.
As he said, the production of the Russian vaccine in Serbia will be of great importance for us – first for the preservation of human health and life, and then for possible development perspectives for the distribution of the vaccine in the Balkans and Southeast Europe.
He conveyed that a protocol was signed with Generium, which defines further steps towards the establishment of joint production of the "Sputnik V" vaccine in Serbia.
