At the meeting, the project’s achievements to date were presented, along with plans for its future development, with participants emphasising that the initiative has been operating successfully for the past five years and is being implemented across 20 institutes in Serbia.
One of the project’s key outcomes is the increased presence of participating institutes in the field of international cooperation.
To date, the project has facilitated high-quality and frequent cooperation between World Bank representatives and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation.
During the meeting, Balint also reflected on his longstanding cooperation with the Dedinje Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, which, as part of the SAIGE project, has achieved outstanding results.
It was noted that the future direction of the project will focus on strengthening work with institutes to increase their capacities, with the conclusion that all results achieved thus far have exceeded initial expectations.
The SAIGE project aims to enhance the relevance and excellence of scientific research, foster innovative entrepreneurship and improve access to funding sources for company growth.
In doing so, Serbia continues to build an innovation ecosystem that supports economic growth and international competitiveness.
