The Ministry of Family Care and Demography today signed agreements with representatives of 73 local self-governments for the allocation of grants intended to improve demographic trends and enhance living conditions for families, in the total amount of RSD 392 million.

The Ministry has allocated funds for financing and co-financing projects that contribute to encouraging childbirth, strengthening families and improving conditions for children’s upbringing.
Outgoing Minister of Family Care and Demography Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski emphasised that the Ministry had initiated the establishment of family and demography councils, which have been formed in nearly all local self-government units in just over a month.
The projects to be implemented include the construction and adaptation of kindergartens and schools, the reconstruction of children’s playgrounds, the introduction of new services for families with children, as well as the implementation of projects aimed at preserving family values.
