At today's meeting, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted a conclusion recommending the turn-off of decorative lighting on buildings where this type of lighting is not necessary.
Starting tonight, the decorative lighting will be turned off on the building of the government of the Republic of Serbia, the building of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy, the building of the Presidency, as well as on other buildings and facilities where it is not necessary.
The government appeals to other institutions and organisations to implement this recommendation as an example of responsible and rational behaviour, so that we can jointly contribute to solving the challenges of the energy crisis faced by a large number of countries.
Taking into account the current political situation in the region and the daily tensions that are present, and taking into account public order and peace and the safety of all citizens of our country, the government of Serbia considers that at this moment there are no conditions for the safe holding of Euro Pride 2022, and especially bearing in mind the fact that certain extremist groups could use and abuse this event and Serbia's will to organise it in order to further increase tensions and bring Serbia into instability.
