Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Sentop about bilateral relations of the two countries.
The Prime Minister assessed that the cooperation between the two countries is at the highest level, especially when it comes to the economy, infrastructure, and tourism, and underlined that Turkey is a very important partner of Serbia in those areas.
Companies from Turkey in Serbia employ around 5,900 workers, especially from rural areas, said Brnabic and emphasised that the two countries have strong bilateral interests.
According to her, with mutual support and commitment, the road between Tutin and Novi Pazar was completed and cooperation continues on the construction of the most important infrastructure project - the highway between Belgrade and Sarajevo.
Speaking about the Open Balkans Initiative, the Prime Minister thanked Sentop for the support that Turkey provides to this initiative, as well as the preservation of peace and stability in this part of Europe.
Sentop said that the relations between the two countries are important for the entire region and he is confident that the good cooperation will continue.
He highlighted tourism as an important economic branch that needs to be improved, because it is a sector with great potential.
The President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey concluded that the overall inter-parliamentary cooperation in the previous period was very good, friendly, continuous and that its established dynamics followed the trend of general bilateral relations.
