First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK Caroline Ziadeh.
The meeting looked at the importance of continuing the engagement of the UNMIK Mission on all issues of importance for the consistent implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, as well as the current security and political situation in Kosovo and Metohija, especially in the context of recent incidents, which further increase tensions.
The topic of discussion was the perspective of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
Dacic pointed out that Serbia is committed to dialogue as the only way to solve current problems, but that the essence is in respecting what was agreed upon.
In this context, he emphasised that there is still no progress in the implementation of the obligations assumed by the other side, primarily in connection with the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, even though ten years have passed since the signing of the Brussels Agreement.
Ziadeh expressed her gratitude for Serbia's support to the work of the UNMIK Mission and especially praised Belgrade's constructive role in the dialogue with Pristina.
The interlocutors expressed the expectation that the good cooperation will be continued in the future, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
